Opelousas, LA- In a significant move to bolster public safety, the Central St. Landry Economic Development District has provided funding for installing cameras along I-49, a project initiated to support the Opelousas Police Department. Opelousas Police Department is set to enhance its crime-fighting efforts with the introduction of a state-of-the-art license plate surveillance camera system along Interstate 49. This initiative, funded by a generous $149,000 from the Central St. Landry Economic District (CSLEDD), promises to accelerate the apprehension of crime suspects through smarter and more efficient surveillance operations.
