Equine industry plays role St. Landry Parish economy

St. Landry Parish, also called the Equine Capital of Louisiana, has a rich equine history that plays a role in the parish economy.
That growth continues with the newly refurbished and reopened Louisiana Equine Sales and Events Center on Harry Guilbeau Road.
The facility has more than 200 horse stalls and multiple barns for livestock. Almost all of those horse stalls were in use just this past week as they held their first sales event.
