Opelousas Downtown Development District Announces 2025 BIG Grant Recipients!

The Opelousas Downtown Development District (ODDD) is excited to celebrate the 2025 Building Improvement Grant (BIG) recipients!

Six local business and property owners have been awarded a total of $54,520.58 in matching grant funds to enhance and revitalize their buildings, supporting a stronger and more vibrant downtown.

Launched in 2021, the BIG Program provides dollar-for-dollar funding for exterior and structural improvements that preserve Opelousas’ historic character, encourage private investment, and strengthen our downtown’s unique cultural identity.

2025 BIG Grant Recipients:

• CASA of St. Landry–Evangeline — 205 W. Landry Street
• The Granger Group — 130 W. Vine Street
• Mack Frank (Myers Home) — 633 N. Union Street
• The Little Yellow Cottage — 234 S. Court Street
• The Parlor at Main — 117 S. Main Street
• Townhouse Motel — 337 W. Landry Street
