St. Landry Economic Development to Host Derby Networking Luncheon: “Racing Ahead Together: The Power of Collaboration

OPELOUSAS, LA – St. Landry Economic Development invites business leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders to attend its upcoming Derby Networking Luncheon, themed “Racing Ahead Together: The Power of Collaboration,” on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Louisiana Equine Sales and Event Center, located at 372 Harry Guilbeau Road, Opelousas, LA. 

This signature event is designed to foster meaningful connections and strengthen partnerships across St. Landry Parish and the surrounding region. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and explore collaborative strategies that drive economic growth and community development. 

The luncheon will feature distinguished guest speakers, including Lori Dupuis, President and CEO of the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce, and Myra Richardson, an award-winning consultant, business leader, and servant leader. Both speakers will share insights on leadership, partnership, and the importance of collaboration in advancing regional success. 

Guests are encouraged to embrace the Derby theme by wearing their best hats, bow ties, and spring attire. A Derby-inspired menu will be prepared and served by the talented culinary students of the Washington Career and Technical Education Center, highlighting local talent and workforce development initiatives.
